Chester A. Ohmart, 89, passed away early Saturday morning, October 24, at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville. He had been a resident of this city for the past 17 years, and prior to that time had served as a telephone lineman at Roodhouse for 25 years. Born October 8, 1881 near Girard, he was the son of Dayton and Susan Riffey Ohmart. On April 23, 1905, he married Ada McMahan, who survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Bernice Rutherford of this city; a son Donald, of Saunemin, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Eva King of Winber, PA.; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by two sons, Paul and Raymond, and by two brothers. Funeral services were held Monday at the Neece Funeral Home in this city. Officiating were Rev. Kenneth Conant and Rev. David Perry. Pall bearers were: Ray Ohmart, Craig Ohmart, Harold Lowery, Leo Lowery, Maurice Stewart, James Ryan, Albert Edwards and Glenn Miller. Burial was at Waverly East Cemetery.
