George H. Alexander, 96, Olathe, KS, passed away April 25, 1998, at Olathe Medical Center. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home; burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Calvary Baptist Church or St. Luke's School of Nursing.

Mr. Alexander was born March 28, 1902, in Kansas City, MO, and was raised in Marshall, MO. He married Marjorie King on May 4, 1929.

He was Deacon Emeritus of Calvary Baptist Church and former chairman of Board of Deacons. He had been a printer for The Kansas City Star and retired from Constable Hodgins.

Mr. Alexander was a member of the Board of Honorary Governors at Baptist Medical Center. He was a 70-year member of the Masons and also the Typographical Union. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sanford and Vera E. Alexander, and brother, William. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marjorie, of the home; son, John and his wife, JoAnne, Ponca City, OK; daughter, Kaitlin Marjorie, Olathe, KS; grandson, Keith and his wife, Meg, Ponca City, OK; four great-grandchildren; stepgrandsons, Rob and Al Anderson and their children, of Kansas.
