She was born on Aug. 23 1945 in North Dighton to Grace H. (Dahlberg) Allen and the late Floyd E. Allen. The family moved to Norton in 1949, and Christine attended Norton schools.
On July 11, 1970, she was joined in marriage to the late William H. "Harry" Burke. They lived in Attleboro, and were married nearly 35 years, until his death in May of 2005.
Christine enjoyed listening to music, and "oldies" radio was a constant companion in her last years. She was also a great animal lover, and owned pet cats from early childhood throughout most of her adult life.
In addition to her mother, Grace Allen of Norton, she is survived by her son, Lee Allen Burke of Attleboro, and her daughter, Marie Burke Manthe and her husband Jeffrey of Topeka, Kan. Christine is also survived by her brother, Kenneth E. Allen and his wife Maureen of Norton; and two grandsons, Kyle Owen and Ryan Parker Manthe of Topeka. She is the aunt of Stacey and Kelly Allen of Norton and the niece and cousin of several.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton.
A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Burial will take place in St. John's Cemetery, Attleboro at a later date. Following the service, a gathering will be held at Woodland Meadows Community Hall, 120 West Main St., Norton, Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Christine's memory may be made to Hospice and Pallative Care Federation of Massachusetts, 1420 Providence Hwy., Suite 277, Norwood, MA 02062, or the American Hospice Foundation, 2120 L St. NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20037.
