Robert Clarence Dillon, 81, Nevada, MO, passed away on July 1, 2011, at his home in Nevada following a brief illness. He was born October 9, 1929, in La Junta, CO, to Clarence Edward Dillon and Bertha Eunice Spragg Dillon. He married Emma Ruth Inman on August 25, 1950, in McPherson, KS, and she survives of the home.



Robert grew up in La Junta, CO, and graduated from high school there. He attended Central College in McPherson, KS, and Washburn University in Topeka, KS, where he graduated with a degree in math. He was a math teacher at the University of Arizona for almost 30 years. Following retirement, he volunteered in Prison Fellowship Ministries for 10 years with his wife until they moved to Nevada from Arizona in 2004.



Survivors in addition to his wife Ruth include four children, Mark Dillon and his wife Rita, St. Paul, MN, Peggy Doucette, of the home, Mary Kathleen Yoder and her husband Bob, Milo, MO, and John Dillon and his wife Lois, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; 17 grandchildren, Mara Solis and her husband Beto, Courtney Dillon, Jennifer Morey and her husband Daniel, Michael Doucette, Coco Moore and her husband Jason, Emily Yoder, Skip Yoder and his wife Rebekah, Buck Yoder, Isaac Yoder, Enoch Yoder, Sunshine Yoder, Patience Yoder, Ezekiel Yoder, Andrew Dillon, Laura Dillon, Benjamin Dillon, and James Dillon; six great-grandchildren, Nathanael Moore, Timothy Moore, Betsy Anna Moore, Isaiah Moore, Levi Yoder, and Adele Morey, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at the Church of the Nazarene, Nevada, MO, with Rev. Mike Satterlee and Pastor Daniel Dickey officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada, MO. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 7-8:00 Monday evening, July 4, 2011, at the funeral home.
