John O'Connor served in Co. F., 4th Vermont Infantry during the Civil War. He was wounded at Cold Harbor and had the middle finger of his left hand amputated. Afterwards he was considered cured and returned to duty.
He was born on Sept. 26, 1847 in Waterbury Vt. to Michael O'Connor and Harriet (nee Littemore or Latimar). He died in January 1933 at the age of 85 due to injuries sustained in a car accident.
