Married Phoebe E. Collings on 13 Oct 1842 in Adams County, Illinois. Married Hester Ann McCarty on 11 Jan 1849 in Rush County, Indiana. Married Cynthia Elizabeth "Betty" Lyon on 03 Mar 1859 in Lewis County, Missouri.


LOCAL AND OTHER ITEMS.

Mr. James Lyon, an old citizen, died at his home in Edina last Saturday morning, aged about 75 years. He had been poorly for many long months but the best of attention and nursing could not bring him back to health. He leaves a wife, four sons and two daughters to mourn his death. Mr. Lyons [sic] had many friends who will regret to hear of his death. Services were held at the house conducted by Rev. S. D. Kendall, after which remains were taken to Linville cemetery for burial.

OBITUARY.

James W. Lyons [sic], for many years a resident of this city, died in his home on the corner of Fifth and Lafayette streets, Saturday, January 23d, 1904, at eight a. m. Mr. Lyons [sic] was born in Decatur Co., Ind., June 22, 1829, and in his 27th year came to Missouri. March 3d, 1859, he was married to Miss Elizabeth Harrison, near LaGrange, Mo. Excepting about a year and one half their home has been in this locality. Here their family was born and excepting two daughters, who died in infancy, their children, four sons and two daughters, are living. The family in this bereavement receive the interest and condolence of many sympathetic friends and neighbors. Monday morning at 10, a brief service was held in the residence after which the remains were buried in the Linville cemetery northwest of this city. — S. D. Kendall.
