MRS. RACHAEL SHAW DEAD IN URBANA
Had Been Resident of the City Since 1872

Mrs. Rachael S. Shaw, since 1872 a resident of the Twin Cities, died this morning at 9 o'clock at the home of her son, E. M. Shaw, 1404 West Park Street, Urbana, after an illness of ten days, due to pneumonia.
Mrs. Shaw was 86 years old and had spent the greater part of her life in Champaign County. She had been a widow since May 1, 1864. Mrs. Shaw was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Champaign and had lived a Christian life from girlhood. The following four sons survive: Amos Shaw of Newman; E. M. and T. E. Shaw of Urbana and Phillip E. Shaw of Champaign.
The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9:30, from the home of her son. Rev. J. C. Baker, pastor of Trinity M.E. Church, conducting the services. The body will be taken to Homer on a special car over the interurban and from there will be taken to Lost Grove Cemetery, five miles southwest of Homer, for interment in the family lot.
