Sylvia A. Alban, 84, of Hanover, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Hanover Hospital.

Born Sept. 4, 1911 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Emory and Edith (Sterner) Markle. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Clarence F. Alban.

She was a member of Lohrs Memorial United Methodist Church.

She had been employed at the Narrow Ribbon Mill and Middleburg Manufacturing in Hanover.

Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter, Juene McGlaughlin, of Gettysburg; one son, Floyd Alban, of Carlisle; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four step-sisters, Evelyn Shue and Mildred Brilhart, both of New Oxford; Janet Barnhart, of Hanover; and Catherine Paup, of Dillsburg.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover, with her pastor, the Rev. Leroy C. Doverspike, officiating. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Alban, James Alban, Bart Alban, Thomas McGlaughlin, Chad Alban and Robert Donnelly.
