GENZLER Karissa Dawn "Krissy", age 17, of Norman, was born September 29, 1981 in Oklahoma City. She passed away Saturday, September 4, 1999.

Karissa attended Twelve Corners Baptist Church, where she was very active in Youth Group activities. She was also a senior at Little Axe High School.

Karissa loved and excelled at the game of softball. She played center field at Little Axe H.S., where she received many honors in softball. Those honors include All Conference 1996-97-98-99; Fast Pitch Most Spirit of the year 1998; Defensive Player of the Year 1997; Sooner Conference Softball Outstanding Offensive Player 1997; All Star 97-98-99; and All Little City 97-98.

She is survived by her mother, Kimberly Newman-Painter; her father Ray Allen Genzler and his wife Vina Ann; her brothers Ray Allen Genzler Jr. and Brint Michael Genzler; a sister, Heather Painter; paternal grandparents Bob and Joyce Genzler; paternal great grandmother Berta Genzler; maternal grandparents Harold and Mary Nichols; grandmother Lucille Neer; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a multitude of friends.

She was vibrant and full of energy. She was a loving, kind and giving person with a soft heart. She was compassionate to all that knew her. She loved her family and friends very much and brought joy and sunshine to all that were around her. She recently rededicated her life to her Lord-Jesus Christ.

Funeral services officiated by Pastor David Henson will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 1999 at the Hilltop Baptist Church, 11710 SE 149th. Burial will follow in Sunny Lane Cemetery.
