Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider, 23, of Phoenix, N.Y., died June 30 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather and Godfather, Rohe Schneider, Jr. Survivors: his parents, Richard and Lorie Schneider; a brother, Kevin Schneider of Phoenix; his fiancee Theresa Lynn Dodge of W. Columbia, TX; his maternal grandparents, Richard and Dianne Vrotny of Baldwinsville and maternal grandfather Gary E. (Helen A.) Younis; his paternal grandparents, Carol Schneider and John Rouselle of Central Square; his aunt and Godmother, Carole Ozark, as well as, aunts and uncles: Joe Younis, Rolie Breeden, Doug Vrotny, Ken and Kelly Schneider, Dave and Lori Schneider, Sherri and CSM Dave Jarvis and several cousins. On Monday, May 13, 2013, the Post Office building in his hometown of Baldwinsville, N.Y. will be renamed in his honor.
