Funeral services were held for Mrs. Eva Anderson from Weir-Cookes Funeral Home with Dr. Ernest A. Matthews associate pastor of the First Methodist church officiating.
Vocal music was presented by Mr. Gary Shaw, solist, accompanied by Mr. Frank Keedy at the organ.
Bears were: Milo Anderson, Daryl Anderson, La Verne Anderson, James Anderson, Robert Anderson and Donald Pratt.
Graveside services was conducted by the members of the Rebekah Lodge.
Interment was in the Forest Home Cemetery.
Eva Isdora Carter was the youngest daughter of Howard and Eleanor Lyon Carter and was born in Marion Twp., Henry Co., Iowa on July 25, 1867.
She grew up on the farm where she was born and attended country school, then later Howes Academy in Mt. Pleasant.
On Jan. 4, 1888, she was married to Alfred H. Anderson. For two years they resided on the Carter farm where she was born. In 1890, they moved to Cowley County, Kansas, but finding Kansas a poor farm country they returned to Iowa in Sept. 1895 in company with other families in covered wagon.
Besides farming in Henry county, they lived in Van Buren county 10 years. In 1916, they moved to Mt. Pleasant and on July 7, 1946, Mr. Anderson died.
To this union was born four sons and one daughter.
John who died in infancy, Clark L. and Mrs. Hazel Coltrane of Stockport, Floyd M. of Woodlawn, Cal. and Kenneth D. of Tuson, Ariz.
She also leaves eight grand children, 13 great grand children, and two great-great grand children and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Methodist church, Crystal Rebekah Lodge and W.R.C.
Mrs. Anderson was priviledged to live to celebrate her 90th birthday in July, 1957, at which time her entire family was present except two grand daughters.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
