Helen Ruth Baines-Watkins, the beloved daughter of the late Jake Sr. and Maggie Baines was born on December 21, 1951 in Wilson North Carolina. On Monday, June 16, 2008 at 12:00 a.m. God silently sent His Angels to bring Helen into Eternal Rest.
Helen was baptized at an early age at the First Baptist Church in Wilson, North Carolina. Helen attended Bay Ridge High School and graduated in 1971. After completing High School, Helen enlisted in the United States Army in 1972. After serving her country, Helen attended Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, New York in 1976.
Helen was a loving, kind and affectionate wife, sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend. Helen was willing to share all that she with others. Helen was a very happy person who loved children and loved to dance and have fun with everyone. Helen was full of life and loved to travel with her husband Ron.
On august 8, 1989, Helen Baines was united in holy matrimony to Ronald Watkins.
Helen leaves to cherish her loving memories a devoted loving husband Ronald Watkins; three sisters, Virginia Williams (Robert) Baltimore, Maryland, Lillie M. King, New York City, New York and Jackie Baines, Aberdeen, Maryland; three brothers, John D. Baines (Cynthia), Brooklyn, New York, Willie G. Baines, Baltimore, Maryland and Christopher Baines, Havre de Grace, Maryland; one stepdaughter, LaDonna Watkins; one step granddaughter, Sade Watkins two brothers-in-law, Gerald Watkins, Severna Park, Maryland, and Clifton Watkins (Audrey), Annapolis, Maryland; two sisters-in-law, Althea Harrison and Helen Wilson, Annapolis, Maryland; three aunts, four uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
