In Memory of Mrs. Geo. Cahill - How it grieves our heart to pen the last respects of the dear wife and mother: Bertha Jane Cahill, nee Krewson, who died April 14, 1920; born February 28, 1879 and was married Nov. 28, 1897 to Geo. B. Cahill.

To this union 10 children were born, two of them died in infancy and one left this life only a short time before his dear mother was the beloved son Jacob, age 16, whom was away at the time of his death on a visit to his aunt Nora Bacus. Little did this mother think her dear boy was leaving for the great beyond and no doubt was the true cause of her heart trouble, which caused her death very suddenly. Bertha's death came so sudden that no words were spoken.

They resided 12 miles south of St. James, on the Merrimac. 7 children besides the husband are left to mourn, also the mother and father, Jake Krewson, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

She was a member of the Oak Grove Christian Church since the year 1895. She was laid to rest in the Creek Cemetery April 16; on account of some difficulty the pastor could not be present so the funeral services were conducted on Sunday following by Rev. Jeff Rheinhart who spoke an interesting and sympathetic talk for the bereaved family - The Bland Courier, Bland, Gasconade Co, MO. May 7, 1920 [a poem was included in original obit....]
