As the librarian for the Missouri Historical Society, Stella convinced Jane Taylor, the daughter of Susan Magoffin (the first White woman over the Santa Fe Trail) to permit her mother's journal to be published. Mrs. Drumm later served as editor of the book "Following the Santa Fe Trail: A Guide for Modern Travelers."
