Carmen K. Bouvet, 67, of Taylorville died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009, in Meadow Manor Nursing Home.

He was born February 27, 1941, in Taylorville, the son of Desire and Minnie McComb Bouvet. He married Cheryl A. White on December 29, 1976, in Springfield. He was a carpenter, working out of Carpenter's Union Local 16 in Springfield. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his wife; daughters: Chrystal Bouvet and Michelle Bouvet, both of Taylorville; granddaughters: Alexandra Bouvet and Mikayln Bouvet; brother, Gene (wife Phyllis) Bouvet of Tovey; sister, Marilyn (husband Don) Blakey of Las Vegas, NV; and sister-in-law, Darlene Bouvet of Taylorville. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons: Rick G. Vatthauer and Jeff Vatthauer; brother: Jack Bouvet; and sisters: Betty Gehrs, Norma Riva, Hattie Dulakis and Carolyn Cook.

There will be no services or visitation.
Burial was in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton.
