He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary and son. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Sylvia; 2 brothers; 2 nephews, and niece.
Garry was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Vietnam. He recently retired after 41 years with Norfolk- Portsmouth Beltline Railroad. He will be remembered as a very devoted family man and dedicated to his work. He enjoyed fishing and was always up for a ball-game.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Phil Holswager. Entombment will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
