from "History of Montour and Columbia Counties" by J.H. Beers (pub. 1914):
Samuel Boone the grandfather of Mrs. Kelchner came from the eastern part of PA and settled in Columbia county on a farm along the river in Centre Twp. There he continued to be engaged in agricultural pursuits throughout his life, accumulating a competence and gaining the respect and esteem of his fellow citizens all over the township. He was a stalwart Whig in politics, but at no time was he an office seeker. He and his wife are buried at the Hidlay church in Centre Twp.
