Chesapeake – Walter Alfred Blunt, Jr. "Baby", formerly of 1320 Atlantic Avenue died August 5, 2008 in Chesapeake General Hospital. Mr. Blunt was born August 5, 1920 to the late Walter Blunt Sr. and Annabelle Blunt. He graduated from Providence High School. He was a retiree of Norfolk Southern Railroad, where he served as a cook. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was predeceased by two brothers Lloyd Blunt and Vernon Blunt, and a sister, Marie Blunt. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Mary Brown Blunt of Chesapeake; four daughters, Jerilyn M. Blunt of Washington, DC, Evelyn M. Brown, Theresa C. Peeples and Juelle Jalilian of Chesapeake; five sons, Walter R. Blunt, Terrance A. Blunt, and Kent E. Blunt of California, Gilbert W. Blunt of Newport News, and Forrest O. Blunt of Orangeburg, SC; eighteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
