Died on June 18, 2011 at Hospice House in Spokane, Washington after a brief bout of invasive cancer.
He was born in El Paso, Texas to Dolores (Hier) and Raymond Meyer on May 8. 1961 and was raised in Peoria, Illinois. Eric married Sheri K. (Buntrock) Meyer in Santa Monica, California on January 8, 1994.
He received his Bachelors in Aviation Management from the University of Dubuque and went on to work within the aviation industry as a station manager for several airlines. He accepted the call to serve his country after September 11, 2001 and joined Homeland Security Department within the Transportation Security Administration as an Inspector. Eric loved his job and his co-workers. Eric also loved music and used his beautiful baritone voice to sing with the men's Christian singing group, His Song. He was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He also enjoyed helping with his daughter's softball team and was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan.
He is survived by his wife, Sheri Meyer, and his children, Amanda Hanson, Jon Meyer, Paige Meyer and his mother, Dolores Hier of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Meyer.
