Funeral services for Robert Eugene Zehner, 48, Route 1, will be held Wednesday (today) in St. Anne's Catholic Church at 10 a.m. He died suddenly at 7:05 p.m. Saturday. He had been in failing health for five months. A lifetime resident of the area, he was born October 19, 1934 in Monterey, the son of August (Gus) and Anna Shorter Zehner. Zehner was employed in the maintenance department of the Pulaski County Memorial Hospital at the time of his death. He was a former employee of the Bendix Corporation in South Bend. He was a member of the St. Anne's Catholic Church, Monterey. Survivors include: his mother of Monterey; three daughters, Tina Zehner, San Antonio, Texas, Laura Zehner and Melissa Zehner, both of Monterey; two sisters, Mary Penska, Winamac, and Alice Sue Marsh, Fort Wayne; two brothers, James R. and Donald J., both of Monterey; several nieces and nephews. Two sons preceded him in death. Rev. John D. Kiefer will officiate at the services and burial will be in St. Anne's Cemetery, Monterey. A wake service was held at the Frain Mortuary on Tuesday.
