Thelma Inez Lockhart Miller RICHLANDS, Va. Thelma Inez Lockhart Miller, age 86, went to be with her Heavenly father and her
beloved "Poppy" on June 29, 2011. She was born Aug. 1, 1924, in Buchanan County, Va., but lived most of her life in the Swords
Creek area of Russell County with her last 20 years spent in Richlands. She was the daughter of the late Floyd Lockhart and
Naomi Perkins Lockhart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlyle G. Miller; one son, Lanny Dale Miller; step-daughter,
Shirley Wilson Hurley; sons-in-law, Atles Wilson and Lew Aasgard; two brothers, Lee and Dee Lockhart; two sisters, Nellie Miller
and Freda Cordle; as well as five grandchildren, Jimmy Dean Wilson, Shanna Lynn Miller, Shane Miller, Ralph Miller and Kayla
Aasgard. Those who remain to carry on her spirit are four daughters, Linda Stinson and husband Jerry of Lebanon, Va., Sandra
Aasgard-Miller of North Las Vegas, Nev., Patty Miller and husband Ersel Bowman of Richlands, and Connie Robinson and
husband Robbie of Richlands; two sons, Joe Bill Miller and wife Jo Anne of Swords Creek, and Louis Miller and wife Dorothy of
Swords Creek; step-sons, Roger Miller and wife Pauline of Mill Creek, Va., and Ralph D. Miller and wife Sarah of Honaker, Va.;
four sisters, Gladys Hubbard of Tazewell, Va., Arbutus Plaster of Bristol, Va., Evelyn Perkins of Richlands, and Mae Richardson of
Honaker; two brothers, Dallas Lockhart and wife Lois of Honaker and Carter Lockhart and wife Lolita of Swords Creek. She also
leaves behind 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as a host of friends. Funeral
services for Thelma Inez Lockhart Miller will be conducted at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2011, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in
Richlands, with the Rev. Thomas Stranger and Jamie Steffey officiating. A committal service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. on
July 2, 2011, at the Russell Memorial Cemetery Mausoleums. Pallbearers will be Joe Bill Miller, Louis Miller, Roger Miller, Phillip
Miller, Lanny Dale Miller, Jr., and Jerry L. Stinson II. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph D. Miller, Robbie Robinson, Jerry Stinson
and friends of her church family. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. on Friday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands.
