John Hafner was born on January 21, 1861, in Dayton, Ohio.* He spent his boyhood days at Monroe, Wisconsin. In January of 1883 he came to Kansas and two years later was united in marriage with Miss Susan Walters at Marysville. For many years they resided on a farm, moving to town in 1929.
He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Pauline Koken of Fairbury, Nebraska and Mrs. Netta Schwarz and Mrs. Mabel McGrath of Marysville, three sons, Henry J., Frank C. and Leroy J. Hafner, all of Marysville, one sister, Mrs. Henry Baker of Marysville and one brother George of California and ten grandchildren.
