The Marysville Advacate

Tunis Davis, 74, retired Union Pacific railroad engineer, died thursday, May 23, 1974, at St. Mary's hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, after a two month illness. He had previously been hospitalized here at Community Memorial hospital following a stroke before being transferred to Kansas City.

Services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. from Memorial Presbyterian church, with the Rev. Wilson R. Maurer, Mt. Calvary Lutheran pastor officiating. Burial was in the Marysville cemetery with arrangements by Kinsleys.

The son of Frank and Sarah Davis, he was born March 20, 1900, at Hanover in Washington county. He was married December 3, 1927, at Red Cloud, Nebraska, to Claribel Loch, and they were the parents of two daughters.

He was a member of the Masonic lodge. .

Preceding him in death were his parents, and a brother Franklin Davis.

Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Claribel Davis, of home; his daughters, Collen, Mrs. Larry Hatch, Salina, Kansas; Sally Davis, Lenexa; three grandchildren, brothers and sisters, James C. Davis, Kansas City, Missouri; Mrs. Naomi Davis-Ray, Evanston, Wy; Lucile, Mrs. Charles Marquardt, Marysville, Kansas; Clarence Davis, Colfax, California.

Jerome Lueers song How Great Thou Art and Near to the Heart of God, accompanied by Miss Marie Grauer. Pallbearers were Harold Forgey, James Tracy, Gordon Blakeway, Harold Fund, Gene Rowland, and Walter Schwarz.
