Mrs. Benoist was born in Patoka June 16, 1894, the daughter of Peter and Mary Humes. She married Leroy Lewis "Roy" Benoist, who died in 1962.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy G. Hahs officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Centralia.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include one son, Donald L. Benoist of Alburquerque, N.M., one son in law, Bob Douglas of Mt. Vernon; nine grandchildren, including Steve Davis of St. Louis and Jenna Davis of Los Angeles who were raised in the Benoist home; seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Benoist was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Varnell Rebekah Lodge of Mt. Vernon. She was the last of 14 children of the Humes family.
Mrs. Benoist was preceded in death by two daughters, Aline Douglas and Virginia Davis.
