Indian Campaigns Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Private in the United States Army in Company G, 1st US Cavalry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on October 20, 1869 at Chiricahua Mountains, Arizona Territory. His citation reads "Gallantry in action."
