Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all, Lee J. Anderson, age 69, passed away on June 28, 2011 at the Gunnison Valley Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born November 15, 1941 to Farrell C. and Minnie Nielson Anderson of Gunnison.. He was born and raised in Gunnison and loved this valley. He lived in the same house all of his life except for two years.

Lee married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, JoAnn R. Buchanan in the Manti Temple on September 23, 1960. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. They have three daughters, Christine (Blane) Jensen of Gunnison; Michelle Hansen of Gunnison; and Annette Winn of Centerfield.

Lee was a great family man who loved his family very much. He had big hands and an even bigger heart. He was a Jack-of-all-trades and could do anything. He drove truck for many years and loved being on the open road. He also worked in construction, did cement work, was the milk man for Cream of Weber, and managed a grocery store. He was a very hard working man.

Lee was a member of the LDS Church and loved the gospel. He served in many positions.

He loved being outside doing yard work and working on his tractor. He also loved annual trips to Lake Powell with his family and friends. He was a very creative man and loved to build things, especially wood-work.

Lee is survived by his wife JoAnn, his daughters Christine (Blane), Michelle, Annette, his sister Adella Nelson of Syracuse, his nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. We all love him and will miss him very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and a grandson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 12 Noon at the Gunnison LDS Stake Center. Where friends may call for viewing Monday evening from 6 to 8 and again Tuesday morning from 10 to 11:30.
