Beth Alyison McCleery, 54 of Pittsfield, IL died Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Springfield Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. Beth was born in Pittsfield, IL on July 27, 1956, a daughter to Alfred and Marie Doyle Whittaker. She married Dwight McCleery on October 16, 1976 at the Pittsfield Assembly of God Church. Beth had worked as a legal secretary for law offices of Mike Roseberry, A.W. Schimmel, Hollahan Law Office, Robert Jones Attorney's office in Rushville, IL and served as chief deputy at the Pike County Clerk's office. She was a member of the Pittsfield Assembly of God Church where she taught Sunday school, was a member of the Missionettes Women's Group and Praise and Worship Team. Beth enjoyed reading, crafting with jewelry and beads and Facebook. She loved helping people and spending time with her nieces and nephews and all of her family. She is survived by her husband, Dwight, mother, Marie Whittaker of Springfield, MO and a son, Cameron McCleery of Pittsfield, IL, a brother, Dennis (Nancy) Whittaker of Tuscaloosa, AL, a sister, Debbie (Carl) Scranton of Springfield, MO along with several nieces and nephews. Beth was preceded in death by her father. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the Pittsfield Assembly of God Church with Rev. Larry Hayes officiating. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Pittsfield. Visitation will be held Friday evening, July 1, 2011 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield. A dinner will be held at the Pike County Senior Center after the funeral service. Memorials are suggested to the Pittsfield Assembly of God Children's Sunday School Program.
