Nellie Matthews Kineman
Mrs. Kineman, age 92, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday July 6, 2010 at Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson, SC. She was born April, 17, 1918 In Whittier, NC, daughter of the late Ranson W. and Casady Broom Matthews. Mrs. Kineman was a member of Green Memorial Baptist Church and the American Legion. She was a US Army veteran serving from January 1943 to November 1945 receiving the American Theater Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, WAC Service Medal and Victory Medal and was discharged as Sergeant E-5. She retired as a nurse with 25 years of service with the State of Michigan Mental Health Services.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday July 10, 2010 at McEwen Funeral Service Charlotte Chapel, 5716 Monroe Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212 with a graveside service with military rites to follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
Surviving are 2 nephews, Joel Parker of Boiling Springs, SC and David Wiggins, Jr. of Bryson City, NC, 3 nieces Linda Sell of Charlotte, NC, Delores Miller of Wilmington, NC and Barbara Lawrence of Raleigh, NC.
