Lillian Irene (Clay) Nunn, 88, died on Wednesday, May 11, 1994 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on August 3, 1905 in Hobart, Oklahoma to C.L. and Edna (Finley) Clay. In 1931 she married Lyle L. Nunn, who preceded her in death in 1986, 20 years after his retirement from the U.S. Army. Also preceding her in death in 1958, was her youngest son, Harrell Finley Nunn. She graduated from Oklahoma College for Women and spent many years teaching in Kiowa County, Greer County and for the U.S. government's Department of Defense Dependent School System. Her career also included employment with the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety, as well as the F.A.A. and the Alcohol and Tobacco Division of the F.B.I. She was survived by her son, David Clay Nunn and wife Janet of Oklahoma City; her daughter, Sallie Sue Nunn Groves and husband Gene of Norman, as well as three grandsons, Edward Groves of Pauls Valley, Roger Nunn and Eric Nunn of Oklahoma City, and four granddaughters, Gwen Groves Hoffey of Hinesville, Georgia, Leslie Nunn Johnson of Tecumseh, Natalie Thorman Jenni of Edmond of Edmond, and Martha Nunn Tanner of Freisen, Germany, and five great-grandchildren. Services were held on Saturday, May 14 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Johns Episcopal Church, 5200 N.
