Mr. Grunendike was born in Springfield. Following governmental service during World war I, he returned to Springfield and managed a large farming operation on the land where Capital airport is now located.
He was a member of St. Paul's cathedral, AF & AM, Springfield Council 2, Elwood Commandery, Ansar Shrine, Springfield Consistory and S.A.R. Mr. Grunendike was past high priest of Springfield Chapter 1.
Surviving are his wife, Rose H.; a daughter, Miss Rose Mary, and his mother, Mrs. Mary E. Grunendike.
Funeral services at Bisch Memorial home. Burial in Oak Ridge cemetery.
