Martha E. (Parker) Farris, 79, of Monroeville, passed away Monday evening, June 27, 2011 at Stein Hospice Care Center. She was born on January 6, 1932 in Corbin, Kentucky, the daughter of Everett and Nicie Parker. Mrs. Farris resided in Kentucky and Michigan until relocating to the area in 1956. Martha has been a long time member of Milan Baptist Church SBC. She worked many years, retiring from Fanny Farmer Candy Factory. Her true love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Martha leaves to cherish her memory, beloved husband of 63 years, JL Farris, whom she married on September 22, 1948. Her three children, Jay Everett Farris, of Monroeville, Ronnie Lee (Diane) Farris, of Norwalk, and Elizabeth "Libby" Kuhl, of Milan; three granddaughters, Candice (Eli) White, Jeanne (Kevin) Gahagen, and Stephanie Pack, all of Norwalk; sister, Anna Pearl Brasel, of Corbin, KY; brothers, Claude H. Parker, and George H. Parker, both of Louisville, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and five brothers, Paul, Raymond, William, Samuel, and James Parker. Friends will be received on Thursday, June 30, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. in the Groff Funeral Home, 1 S Main St., Milan, Ohio. Friends may also call on Friday, July 1, 2011 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. in the Milan Baptist Church SBC, 5201 Old State Road, Milan, OH. The Rev. Rodney Hollen will officiate. Entombment will take place in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
