My mother's mother. Part Choctaw Indian. She died when I was just 17. As an amateur sleuth looking up stories and clues about my ancestors, I'm sure she could have told me a lot if I'd just thought to ask her. When we down to see her, I guess I thought she'd be around forever, and I could talk to her later, if I wanted to. Waited too long.
