Mary A. Rutter, 87, of Mount Union R.D. died Monday, March 27, 1978 at 2 p.m. at the Shirley Home for the Aged where she had been a resident since 1976. She had been in failing health, and was seriously ill since last December.
Born September 28, 1890, at Rockhill Furnace, she was a daughter of Conrad and Adaline (Winnick) Miller. She was united in marriage December 23, 1909, to Howard O. Rutter who preceded her in death in 1969.
Surviving are three children: Mrs. Marguerite Anglin of Camp Hill, Norman H. Rutter of Bradenton, Fla., and Gerald M. Rutter of Mount Union R.D. There are 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. One daughter preceded her in death.
Mrs. Rutter was a member of the Allenport United Methodist Church and belonged to the United Methodist Women of the church.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 30, at 2 p.m. from the Heath funeral home, Mount Union.The Rev. Thomas Maurer, pastor of her church, will officiate. Interment will be made in the IOOF Memorial Cemetery at Rockhill Furnace.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the services.
