Staff Sgt. Donald V. Stacy, 23, of Avondale, Ariz., died June 28 in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C. He was born to Felicia Denise Escobedo (then Stacy) and Donald Lee Stacy II. He enlisted in the United States Army right after graduation. He served two tours in Iraq, previous to this, his third deployment in Afghanistan. Donald is survived by his mother and step father Felicia Denise and Bernie Escobedo, his aunts Michelle, Sharon, Patsy, Linda, and Geneva, his uncles Vincent and Gilbert, his maternal grandmother Claudia Gonzales and his paternal grandparents Donald and Corine Stacy. He was preceded in death by his father Donald Lee Stacy II.
