JACKSONVILLE — Services for Moody Melton Glass Sr., 81, Jacksonville, are pending with Thompson Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
Mr. Glass died Friday in a Jacksonville hospital after a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 24, 1908, in Dialville, and was a longtime owner of Glass Texaco Gasoline Station and was a Firestone dealer in Jacksonville. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, was a member of Masonic Lodge in Jacksonville and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eula McLeod Glass, Jacksonville; a son and daughter-in-law, Moody and Patricia Glass Jr.; nine brothers, W.W. Glass, Herman Glass, Ernest Glass, Hubert Glass, Orland Glass, Paul Glass, Dan Glass, J.M. Glass and James H. Glass, all of Jacksonville; two sisters, Beulah Creekmur, Overton, and Becky Mayfield, Jacksonville; and two grandchildren, Mathew Glass and Sara Elizabeth Glass.
