Rachel Ann Rothrock was the youngest of five known children of David Rothrock (1803-1886) and Sarah (Susannah?) Pence (1801-1875), who married c1827 in probably Pennsylvania or Virginia.

Rachel married Jacob Henry Tutewiler (1836-1914) on 07 Mar 1861 at Cumberland County, Illinois. Rachel and Jacob were the parents of ten known children, namely:

1. Esther Mary Tutewiler Williams (1862-1939)
2. Sarah A. Tutewiler Ruffner (1864-1942)
3. Thomas Cherry Tutewiler (1865-1944)
4. Lydia Jane Tutewiler Miller (1868-1936)
5. Julia Elizabeth Tutewiler Stewart (1870-1936)
6. Aaron David Tutewiler (1871-1872)
7. Naomi Tutewiler Stump (1873-1937)
8. Electa Tutewiler Carlton (1875-1903)
9. Louisa Bell Tutewiler Rosecrans (1878-1959)
