LAYTON – Gertrude C. Henderson, 90, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2009 at her home.

She was born on March 3, 1919 in Great Falls, Montana the daughter of Elmer and Mary Thompson Wood.

Gertrude married Adelbert "Del" Henderson on April 17, 1940 in Nebraska. He preceded her in death on October 13, 1989.

She was a member of the Layton Hills Baptist Church and the Sierra Madra Rebekah Lodge in Saratoga Wyoming.

Gertrude liked bowling, crafts and made the best peanut brittle in the world. She was a very giving and caring person.

Surviving are her son, Larry D. Henderson, Layton; five daughters, Carolyn J. Browning, Tulsa, OK; Mary Ann (Blaine) Walker, Horn Lake, MS; Della (Jerry) Ward, Cody, WY; Betty Jo (Jerry) Myers, Mantua, Utah; Cheryl (Don) Evans, Layton, Utah; 17 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Robert and grandson, Scott A. Walker.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
