Charles Ross Archibald, 73, of Bettendorf, died Friday, May 27, 2005, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus in Davenport.

The funeral was Tuesday, at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary Chapel in Davenport. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to American Lung Association or Scott County Humane Society.

Mr. Archibald was born April 11, 1932, in Fairfield, the son of John and Anna Crile Archibald. He married Mary Bolwar April 19, 1961, in Davenport.

He was employed at Wonder Bread as a route salesman for 30 years before retiring in 1989.

He was a member of Teamster Local Union No. 371.

He was a gardener.

He camped, fished and made quilts.

Survivors include his wife of Bettendorf; one son, Tim Archibald and wife Debbie of Wilbraham, Mass.; and one sister, Mary Davis of Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
