Harold married Elizabeth Louise Wright at the Evangelical Church, now Albright United Methodist, on Easter Sunday, March 28, 1937.
Harold came to Ponca City OK, first working for the WPA, and then was a longtime employee of Midwest Creamery, where he ended his career as Plant Superintendent. In 1968, Harold moved to Dallas TX where he accepted a position with Oak Farm Dairies, also as a Plant Superintendent. He retired from there at age 65 in 1978 and returned to Ponca City, where he resided until his death. He was a member of Albright United Methodist Church where he had served in many capacities as a church leader, among them a Trustee, Sunday School Superintendent and a youth sponsor.
Survivors include his daughters Sara Sue "Susie" Van Marel and Kay Anthony; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brother Russell Allen.
His parents; wife; a great grandchild; and sisters Cleatha Holcomb, Leatha Howard, Opal Brown, and Frieda Rives preceded him in death.
A private burial service was held on May 24 at IOOF Cemetery. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be at the Albright United Methodist Church, 128 South Palm, at 2 p.m. today, May 25. Dr. Sheila Combs-Francis, pastor, will officiate.
