Homer Watkins, 94

Homer Watkins, 94, of Delphi, died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at Milner Health Care in Rossville.

He was born on June 28, 1907, in Battle Ground to Lewis and Ethel J. Downs Watkins. He was married in Tippecanoe County on Feb. 3, 1934, to Faye Mullendore. She died on April 30, 1998.

He retired from John Deere in Flora in 1972.

He is survived by three sons, Larry Watkins of Schaghticoke, N.Y., Everet Watkins of Globe, Ariz., and Dale Watkins of Flora; three sisters, Marie Mourning and Minnie Spurgeon, both of Lafayette, and Myrtle Garrison of Watseka, Ill.; three brothers, Henry Watkins of Mobile, Ala., Norwood Watkins of Dickinson, Texas, and Joseph Watkins of Lafayette; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

A brother, three sisters and a grandson are deceased.

No visitation is scheduled. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pretty Prairie Cemetery, Battle Ground, with the Rev. Alvin Grumbling officiating.

Burial will be in the Pretty Prairie Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
