A rosary was said at 8 pm Sunday at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Mr. Daehne was born June 18, 1907, in West, Texas to Dr. F. G. and Annie Lobay Daehne and died May 9, 1987, at Matagorda General Hospital.
He was the owner of Daehne Drug Store until he retired in 1968.
He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Texas Pharmaceutical Association, past member of the Lions Club, Old Timers Baseball Association and was inducted into St. Mary’s Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Daehne of Bay City; a son, F. W. Daehne Jr. of Riverdale Ga.; three daughters, Kitty Cashion of Woodbury, Ga., Karen Letsch of Racine, Wis., and Doris Reinhart of New Braunfels; a sister, Mrs. L. G. Garbade of Flatonia; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include Sam Matthes, Ray Kacal, Lloyd Ryman, Gus Svatek, Ed Kana and Dan Stavena.
