John was the son of Charles Monroe Richardson, Sr., and Henrietta M. Mehlbach Richardson. His children are Stephen, Elizabeth, Paton and John. John owned and managed a clinic in which he had been instrumental in the developement of a non-toxic regimen of metabolic therapy, including Laetrile, that had proved eminently sucessful in the control of cancer. This was documented in his book, "Laetrile Case Histories. The Richardson Cancer Clinic Experience"
