On her monument, Mercy's maiden name was mispelled Noyse.

Mercy's mother was Mary (Polly) Stanton Noyes who died in New York in about 1838 and her burial is unknown. Her father, Gershom Noyes was a veteran of the Revolutionary War, serving nine months in Vermont under Capt. James Blakeslee. After Polly's death he removed to Wisconsin with his son, Samuel Noyes and is buried on the family farm.
