Irene Ayre Bauder, 85, of Sunset Manor in Canton, IL, formerly of Peoria, died at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, 14 Mar 1990. She was born 11 Dec 1913, in Dix, Jefferson Co., IL, the daughter of John A. and Bertha Guymon Ayre. She married Harry Bauder on 23 June, 1934, in Dix and he suvives. Mrs. Bauder attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where she received a bachelor's degree in education. She taught at a rural school in Kinmundy, later teaching at Peoria Heights schools for more than 21 years. She last worked at the library at Woodrow Wilson School in Peoria. She was a member of The Order of Eastern Star and a member of Peoria Area Retired Teachers Association and the National Genealogical Society. She devoted her lifetime to genealogy, publishing a book, The Family of John and Mary Wright Guymon. Mrs. Bauder was preceded in death by a sister, Florene Ayre Ostermueller, and a brother, (Henry) Glenn Ayre. There are no children. Services are at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix with the Rev. Alice True officiating. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. today at Cumerford-Endsley-Diggle Funeral Home in Peoria and one hour prior to services at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix. Interment will be at Zion Grove Cemetery in Dix. Memorials may be made to the Peoria Public Libraries or the donor's choice and will be received by either funeral home.
