Jacob John (Georges' brother) married first cousin. Left N.C. and went to Tennessee for part of a year, then went on to Mississippi in about the year 1834. He settled in Charleston, in Tallahatchie County. George Gordon was with Jacob John until Charleston. George Gordon went on up to "the valley", about 12 miles north of Charleston and with the slaves he had brought from N.C. settled at Mitchell's Crossroad, later Crevi; 12 miles from Enid.
