Matthew Wallace Camp was the son of Jonathan Camp and Betsy M. Coleman.

Matthew was born October 12, 1842 in PA and died Nov 26, 1905 in Rexford, KS.

Matthew's family can be traced to Essex Co, England with the first Camp people immigrating to CT, then on to PA and some to KS including Matthew's parents.

Matthew was united in marriage to Permelia Rebecca Simon (the sister of my great grandfather, Jacob Simon) on Sept 22, 1842 in Linn Co, MO. Eight children came from this union: John, Abraham, Joseph, William, Clinton, Jacob, Maggie & Georgia.

At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife and 7 of his children. Son John had passed away in 1879. His wife and all 7 children were present at his funeral. Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church of Rexford and conducted by Rev. Johnston.
