Nellie Maude Stephenson Webb

Nellie Maude Stephenson Webb, 82, of Athens, died Sunday, June 26, 2011, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Dora H. and Lena Caroline Armstrong Stephenson, and was preceded in death by her husband, John Webb; one son, Larry Wayne Webb; and one grandson, Timothy Wayne Smiley. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved to help others in any way she could whenever the need arose. She always cared for others first - family, friends and loved ones. She grew up in the Wesleyanna community and attended McMinn County High School and Central High School. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Riceville.

Survivors include one son and two daughters-in-law, Ronnie G. and Norma Webb and Sara Webb, all of Athens; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Larry Britton of Knoxville, Phyllis Luck and Robert Beasley of Athens, and Darlene and Amos Brock of Englewood; a very special and dear friend, James "Red" Buckner of Athens; grandchildren, Regenia Robinson, Caroline Weaver, Jacqueline White, Tamara Milatz and Jamie and John Webb; nine great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Davey Robinson, Tre Milatz, Breckin Milatz, Cher Bear Milatz, Peyton Weaver, Ashlee Weaver, Michael Dean Weaver, Josh Webb and Abby Webb; and special friends at Western Sizzlin Steakhouse.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Cummins officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in McMinn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Webb, John Webb, Tommy Brock, James Buckner, Richard Milatz and David Robinson

Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ziegler Funeral Home of Athens is in charge of arrangements.
