Mrs. Letha Somers Reid, age 97, of Somers road, Hamptonville died Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Sunday 3:00 at Union Baptist Church in Somers Community with Rev. Kenny Pardue officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 2:30. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 at the church.

Mrs. Reid was born December 1, 1913 in Wilkes County to H. C., Sr. and Idoma Messick Somers. She retired from North State Telephone Company. Mrs. Reid was a member of Union Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Reid; her parents; two nephews and a niece.

She is survived by: ten nieces and nephews; Betty Lou Campbell, Charles Mathis, Don Somers, Rachel Byers, Peggy Sparks, Joe Myers, Saundra Holland, Dwayne Somers, Barbara Love, Gail Powers and several great nieces and nephews.
