On June 5, 1969, he married Sheila Laughridge at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Minot. They made their home in Burlington where they raised their family. He then went to work at Herberger's in Dakota Square Mall as the head of maintenance where he worked for 15 years until ill health forced him to retire.

Ole loved his family and his passion was his grandchildren. He enjoyed every moment he spent with them. He also loved doing carpentry work and could build or fix anything.
