Sebastian Urban, 100, died Thursday at his home on Washington St, Brillion, after suffering a stroke about a month ago.

He was born in New Kirchen, Germany, on April 9, 1856, and came to America in 1883 after completing his military service, settling at Reading, Pa. The same year he married Miss Frances Drexler who died in 1942. In 1886 he came to Wisconsin and homesteaded a farm now occupied by the Harold Lautenschlaegers and moved to Brillion after his retirement in 1935.

Survivors are eight daughters, Mrs. Hannah Lynch at home, Mrs. Rose Nelson, Mrs. Adam (Mary) Ahrendt, Mrs. Claire Bell, Mrs. Earl (Elsie) Bell, all if Milwaukee, Mrs. Fay Godfernon of Zion, Ill., Mrs. Clayton (Lynn) Vail of Waugekan, III., Mrs. Albert (Ethel) Ebert of Pewaukee; two sons, Joseph of Zion, Ill., and William in Indiana; 18 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife , four grandchildren preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at the Luecker Funeral Home, Brillion, and at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Raymond Schaer, pastor officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
